Brenda's training experience began when she taught the Canadian Insurance Brokers Level 2 course and workshops for continuing education credit through the Insurance Brokers Association of British Columbia. 

Her training programs now focus on Leadership Communication, Conflict Management and Employee Engagement on a national and international scale.

While training and coaching are proactive approaches to reducing or eliminating conflict, Discussions by Design provides workplace mediation services to support owners, management, and employees when issues arise, and people have difficulty resolving them on their own.

Taking a “wait and see” approach to workplace disputes creates low morale, increases frustration, and has the potential for legal ramifications.

If your organization does not have an internal mediator who is properly trained, explore the services of an external mediator who can work with the disputing parties to bring peace and productivity back into the workplace.

Brenda Hooper is a Chartered Mediator through the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Canada. She is a Roster Mediator for WorkSafeBC Prohibitive Action Complaints and a Conflict Management Specialist for the Federal Government of Canada’s Informal Conflict Management Services.
